    Home Faith – Opportunity

Prayer — St. Ignatius of Loyola
Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,
    my memory, my understanding,
    and my entire will,
    All I have and possess.
You have given all to me.
To you, Lord, I return it.
Everything is yours; do with it what you will.
Give me only your love and your grace,
that is enough for me. Amen.

    Scripture — Romans 12:2
Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.

    Reflection — Rabbi Manis Friedman

    Discussion

    1. The Catholic church believes very strongly in the importance of science and how scientific research can benefit us. How can science serve to help us become better followers of Christ?
    2. What has been difficult for you as a result of this pandemic?
    3. What opportunities or blessings in disguise have you found despite all of the difficulties we are experiencing?
    4. What is your life really about? How has this change in your routine helped you to reflect on what really matters to you? What is God’s purpose for your life?
    5. For Catholics, Lent is a time to strip away the things that clutter our lives in order to get down to who we are as children of God. Has this time helped you with that?
    6. What new practices or habits could you start during this time to deepen your relationship with God and/or with your loved ones? How do you want to recreate yourself?
    7. Could the world become a better place because of this pandemic? Could we become better people?

    Going Deeper
Our Catholic faith is rooted in Judaism. Jesus himself was a faithful Jew and a rabbi. Look up the Hebrew words used in the reflection video:

    • Mitzrayim
    • Pesach
    • Mitzvah

    Action
Make a change this week in how you spend your time: something that brings you closer to God and to your true purpose in life.

    Prayer
Spend time praying for all people affected by the coronavirus, healthcare workers on the frontlines, scientists trying to find a cure, world leaders making decisions to protect us, all those who have died and the people mourning their loss, those who feel isolated and alone, those who are scared, and any other specific people or intentions you can think of.
