The Health Ministry started its “Prayer Shawl Ministry” in June of 2012. The shawl serves as a mantle and sign of God’s healing presence to strengthen someone who is weary, to ease their suffering and to comfort them when in pain or when they feel alone. The shawls are made with love by parishioners. Prayer shawls are available in the Parish Office. There is no cost for the shawl. Donations are accepted for future purchases of yarn.
Mission Statement: The purpose of our Prayer Shawl Ministry is to have shawls available, made with prayer, for someone who needs comfort during times of difficulty and stress, to know they are not alone physically as well as spiritually. Our ministry began in June, 2012 and currently has 31 members. We meet every other Saturday at 10:30 am at Incarnation in Room 19. Our meetings are listed on the Incarnation website calendar. Crochet and knitting patterns, yarn, and needles are available for anyone needing supplies. There is always someone who can help read a pattern or understand a stitch. Whether you complete one shawl or 6 shawls; come to the meeting or not, you are welcome to be a part of this loving ministry.
