Parenting Talk: Helping Your Child Stay Regulated During Mass

    By Sarah Phillips

Have you ever felt overwhelmed taking your children to Mass? Perhaps you have worried about disturbing other parishioners, or felt so busy keeping up with them that you aren’t sure you heard a word of the homily?

We invite you to join us Sunday, April 14 after the 9:00AM Mass in the PAC for a talk on “Helping Your Child Stay Regulated at Mass.”

Cynthia Drury is a licensed pediatric occupational therapist with a private practice in Charlottesville. This talk is geared toward parents of toddlers through elementary-aged children interested in practical strategies to help their families feel more calm, confident, and engaged at Mass.

Childcare will be available in the Nursery during Cynthia’s talk.

    Community Life Committee: Coming Soon!

    By Sarah Phillips

In response to interest in the parish, the Pastoral Council has established a Community Life Committee.

Whenever His people gather, they gather in reverence and joy.

There is a great deal of interest in welcoming people into that reverence and joy when we gather sacramentally, and in sharing that reverence and joy with each other by gathering more often socially.

The Community Life Committee will be suggesting and introducing opportunities for these things to happen in the near future. Look for a Community Life table after the Masses to find out more, and to find out how you can help.

For those who would like to contact the Community Life Committee, please email Patti Clifford.

View Video of the Shroud of Turin Talk

    By Sarah Phillips

Guest speaker and author, Mike Pietrzyk, gave a fabulous presentation about one of the most famous pieces of cloth in history–The Shroud of Turin!

    Watch the video on YouTube

    0:00 – Intro
2:46 – Part 1: Scientific Mysteries of the Cloth
34:38 – Part 2: The Totality of what Jesus Endured
    55:18 – Questions & Answers

Note: The video is a bit disoriented in the beginning as we rushed to get video equipment setup to record. At about the 14-minute mark, the video is stable for the rest of the presentation.
