October is the Month of the Holy Rosary

    By Sarah Phillips

Before each weekend Mass we invite you to join us in praying the rosary. This is a time to bring the congregation together for prayer before the beginning of Mass. Those who lead the rosary will begin 30 minutes before each Mass.

We ask that all parishioners quietly enter our worship space out of respect for those who are praying.

    PACEM Cot Fundraiser: October 12-20

    By Sarah Phillips

Help Incarnation raise $3,785 to purchase at least 20 Cots. Any additional funds will be used to buy more cots as they are greatly needed. PACEM works to shelter our local homeless population at rotating churches during the winter. Last year, we hosted 55 men, but many had to sleep on floor mats. This was especially hard for our older guests. Sturdy cots will improve their comfort, make it easier to get in and out of bed, and offer more storage space.

    Donate today by:

    • Check: Payable to Church of the Incarnation (PACEM Cots in the memo) – drop off at the church office or in collection.
    • Online: Visit our donation page HERE. Select the “other” and type in “PACEM Cot Fundraiser” as your donation purpose.
    • Join us for a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, October 20th after the 7:00AM, 9:00AM, and 11:30AM Masses.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference for our homeless neighbors this winter. Thank you for your generosity! The PACEM Team

Sponsors needed for our Catechumens & Candidates!

    By Sarah Phillips

We need several parishioners to serve as sponsors for those seeking full communion with the Roman Catholic Church. We currently have 10 people in our English Initiation Ministry. These participants need a sponsor to share their faith and provide ongoing support as they continue their faith journey toward full communion. The only requirements to serve as a sponsor are being a Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church and available to attend sessions and rites with the catechumen or candidate. If you would like to be a sponsor or would like more information, please call (434-973-4381) or email Deacon Jay.

    Library Grand Re-Opening & Fundraiser!

    By Sarah Phillips

The Library Committee would like to thank all of you for your book donations, volunteer efforts and patience during the ongoing efforts to update and improve your existing church library. We are planning a re-opening for Sunday, October 27th during Church Library Month and hope that you will join us! More details to come soon…

Spanish books and children’s/youth books are needed to better serve the members of our parish. A list of excellent additional titles has been curated and now your financial support is requested. We hope to purchase approximately 200 books at cost of $5—$20 each; a total expenditure of about $2,500. If your generosity allows, even more religious books could be added for reading enjoyment!

We can accept cash, check, or online donations. Please note “Library Books” on your envelope, in the memo line, or comment field. Please give what you can to support the children/youth and Spanish parishioners! All donations are greatly appreciated.

    40 Days for Life

    By Sarah Phillips

The 40 Days for Life Campaign in Charlottesville runs from Wednesday, September 25, to Sunday, November 3. Join people around the world to support this powerful pro-life effort in prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil, and reaching out to others to bring the message of the sanctity of life.

Get booklets, signs and prayer cards at the table in the Narthex, and come pray at our vigil site between 7:00AM and 6:00PM daily in front of Planned Parenthood, 2964 Hydraulic Road, Charlottesville (park in the lot just south of Planned Parenthood on Hydraulic).

Be among those who stand bravely for LIFE in our community; every woman in crisis pregnancy needs our prayers and support, every unborn child needs our voice! The effort to end abortion in our country will be done through the grace of God working through people of faith like you.

Sign up online at www.40daysforlife.com/charlottesville. Questions? Email Nancy Strassburg at nancys735@comcast.net.
