Marta hails from Queens, New York, where she was raised bilingual and bicultural. She received her B.A. in Marketing Management from Pace University, studied for a year at the University of Salamanca, Spain, completed 15 graduate credits from the Curry School of Education, and earned her certificate as a Bridging the Gap Professional Medical Interpreter. She worked in business prior to transitioning to education. In New York she served her parish community for 7 years as a Girl Scout Leader, lector, fundraiser, and school volunteer. In Virginia she has worked as a Spanish teacher and has served as a parish, school, and community volunteer. She is very enthused to be assisting Missy Bishop, and to be working with Incarnation Church and its parishioners.
Marta moved to Virginia in 2007 with her husband, Bill, their two children, Ana and Kevin, and her mother, Maria. She enjoys being outdoors, cooking, reading, and spending time with family.
