Millions of Monicas: Tuesday Incarnation Group!

    By Sarah Phillips

As requested by many mothers—beginning June 24th, Incarnation will be holding its own prayer sessions for Millions of Monicas on Tuesday evenings from 6:30–7:30PM in the Daily Mass Chapel! Please bring a crucifix & rosary if you plan to attend.

Join Catholic women who would like to spend an hour a week in prayer for our children (and/or grandchildren, godchildren, nieces and nephews) who have left their Catholic faith. Millions of Monicas (MOM), a national Catholic organization, was established in Michigan about 2 years ago with a mission to encounter God through prayer for ourselves and our children.

Our Lady of the Rosary in Crozet will continue to offer Millions of Monicas prayer group on Wednesdays from 10:30–11:30AM, feel free to come if you prefer mornings. More about MOM can be found on their website: millionsofmonicas.com. For more information about the Incarnation group, please call or email the Parish Office.

    Meet our new Parochial Vicar!

    By Sarah Phillips

Rev. William A. Apprey was born 45 years ago on May 21st in Ghana. He is a Ghanaian national and was ordained into the Catholic priesthood on August 25, 2007. His father, John Apprey (deceased), and his mother, Margaret Apprey, raised him in Accra, the capital city of Ghana.

Fr. Apprey began his secondary school education at St. Martin’s Senior High School in Ghana, where he studied from 1995 to 1997. He continued his post-high school education in preparation for major seminary at St. Theresa Minor Seminary in Amisano, Ghana, from 1998 to 1999.

In 1999, he commenced his priestly formation at St. Paul’s Catholic Seminary in Accra, where he undertook studies in Spirituality, Philosophy, and Sociology until 2002. He then proceeded to St. Peter’s Regional Seminary in Cape Coast, Ghana, where, from 2002 to 2007, he pursued theological studies while continuing his studies in Sociology. During this period, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Study of Religions in May 2004, and a Certificate in Theological Studies in June 2007. Furthering his academic development, Fr. Apprey attended the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology (CIBT) in Accra, Ghana, from 2012 to 2016, where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, graduating in June 2016.

In his pastoral ministry, Fr. Apprey has served in various capacities. From 2007 to 2012, he was assigned as Assistant Priest at St. Kizito Catholic Church in Nima, Accra, while also serving as Deanery Youth Chaplain for the Kpehe Deanery of the Archdiocese of Accra. From 2012 to 2016, he was appointed Assistant Priest at SS. Anne & Joachim Catholic Church in Teshie, Accra. Beginning in 2016, he was assigned as Chaplain at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Chaplaincy at the University of Ghana, Legon, a position he held until 2024.

Fr. Apprey is fluent in English, Fante (his mother tongue), and Ga, a local Ghanaian language. In his leisure time, he enjoys reading and computing. He has also recently developed an interest in golf and swimming.

Fr. William Apprey will start as Parochial Vicar on Tuesday, July 1st. Please give him a warm welcome!

    Filipino-English Mass: June 22

    By Sarah Phillips

Please join our growing Filipino community for Father Josh’s last Mass before his transfer: from parochial vicar of Incarnation, Charlottesville; and Our Lady of the Rosary, Crozet—to administrator of Pro-Cathedral of St. Peter, Richmond; St. John, Highland Springs; and St. Patrick, Richmond, on July 1st.

We express our deepest gratitude to Fr. Josh for his time that he spent with Incarnation and the Filipino-Catholic Community of Charlottesville. We invite you to bring a dish to share for the potluck in the Parish Hall afterwards and wish Father a farewell!

If you would like to get involved and help with our Filipino-English Mass, we would love to hear from you.
