Parish Transition

Dear Church of the Incarnation Parishioners,
This past weekend at all Masses, Fr. Gregory shared the news of his upcoming transfer to the Church of St. Therese in Gloucester, Virginia. Fr. Gregory has served our parish faithfully for the past 18 years, seeing our parish through joys, challenges, grief, and times of transition. We all care about Fr. Gregory deeply, and it will be sad to see him depart from our parish. Fr. Gregory will begin at St. Therese on July 1, and Rev. Msgr. Timothy Keeney, currently of St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Virginia, will become our new pastor on the same day. An announcement of the transition is available on the Diocese of Richmond website: https://richmonddiocese.org/bishop-knestout-announces-clergy-assignments/.

This transition will occur quickly, and in the next few weeks we must lovingly both say goodbye to Fr. Gregory and welcome to Msgr. Keeney.

Please mark your calendars for a farewell reception and potluck for Fr. Gregory at Incarnation on Friday, June 28, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. We will announce a welcome reception for Msgr. Keeney once more information regarding his plans is available.

If you would like to assist with the farewell reception and potluck for Fr. Gregory, please attend our organizing meeting Monday, June 10, at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room at Incarnation. If you are unable to attend that meeting but would still like to help out, please contact Caroline Cook at cmlcook@gmail.com.

As we have more information about our parish leadership transition, we will communicate with the parish via email, the Church of the Incarnation website, Facebook, and the Bulletin. The Church of the Incarnation is a parish alive with the Spirit and we ask that God continue to bless us in this time of transition and change.

Peace,
Church of the Incarnation’s Pastoral & Finance Councils
