Parish Weekly E-Letter - March 3, 2010

News / Events

  • We encourage all parishioners to review the results of the parish-wide survey taken last Fall and the draft “Parish Ministry Plan” that has come from these results.

    The Parish Ministry Plan

    The Survey Results

All constructive suggestions, ideas, comments, etc. should be sent to Frank Squillace at frank@incarnationparish.org . Our goal is to submit a ”parish plan” to the Bishop for his review by May and his subsequent visit to our parish in July.
  • With the expectation that Congress will soon consider Immigration Reform, it is important that the Catholic position and recommendations be known in Washington. Our parish will continue our Immigration Reform Campaign this weekend to educate our Parishioners about immigration issues, encourage support for the Catholic Bishop’s recommendations, and prepare parishioners to participate in the Postcard Drive on Immigration Reform. Campaign information is available on the Justice for Immigrants (JFI) website or at the JFI Bulletin Board located next to the Parish offices.
  • Charlottesville Catholic School (CCS) School Admissions Update: CCS continues to accept applications for Pre-kindergarten through 8th grade and are in the process of considering applicants in our applicant pool. If you are interested in learning more about all that CCS has to offer, please call parishioner and Admissions Coordinator, Ann Michel, at 964-0400. Appointments may be made for tours Monday through Friday. CCS Pre-kindergarten Program Update: CCS is happy to announce that they will begin offering a Pre-K Extended Day Program each day that morning pre-kindergarten is held (Monday through Thursday) from 8:30 am (drop off as early as 8:00am). If you or anyone you know finds this new offering of interest, there are still pre-kindergarten seats available.

“You Need To Know” - Latest Happenings

  • Did you happen to miss the Diaconate Ordination of Eric? How about the great men’s breakfast talk by parishioner Mike Kostelac? Wanting to know when you are serving next in your ministry? Check out all of this on our wonderful parish website.
  • Support our youth by buying top-quality mulch. Online orders can be placed by clicking here. Download a form to print by clicking here. Tell your neighbors! It helps if the deliveries are near each other. Consider helping us deliver. Last year it took around 50 people to make the delivery process happen. All interested in assisting should contact our Youth Minister, Chris Short at youth@incarnationparish.org.
  • If you would like your contributions to the 2010 Bishop's Appeal to return to our local community and assist our fellow parishioners in keeping a Catholic education a viable option, please consider designating "CCS" on the appropriate line on your pledge card. Your money will go directly to the "CCS Catholic Education Fund" and provide tuition assistance for qualifying families in our parish.
  • Ministry Spotlight: Beginning with next week’s e-letter, the “Ministry Spotlight” section that has focused on all of our parish ministries over the past several years, will begin focusing on parish-wide issues, activities and events. Thank you for continuing to stay abreast of all that is happening in our parish family.

Invite friends, family, co-workers, and anyone interested in this year's issues: pre-K education and interpretive services. We hope to see you there!
